Jeanine Johnson, a lesbian activist on campus, and her partner celebrated their first anniversary the end of February. Johnson was hired by Microsoft as a software design engineer and used $1000 of her sign-on bonus and a matching donation by Microsoft to set up a scholarship for LGBT students. After graduation in May, her partner plans to follow Johnson to Seattle.
